Foot Health & Podiatry

The feet are the foundations of your body; their operation and comfort are vital for wellbeing.

Foot Health & Podiatry

Foot Health Practitioners at The Lansdown Clinic are trained and experienced in dealing with a wide variety of foot health problems.  From common foot problems such as corns and verrucae, to skin conditions and fungal nail, we can help to look after your feet and keep them in tip-top condition.

Foot Health Practitioners can treat a range of conditions including:

  • Diabetic foot care.
  • Routine nail care.
  • Verruca, corn and callus treatment.
  • Hard skin and cracked heels.
  • Thickened nails.
  • Fungal conditions.
  • General foot, nail and skin care.

Our Foot Health Practitioners work alongside our Podiatrist and may refer you when necessary. For example, an ingrowing toenail may require toenail surgery. Like all clinicians at The Lansdown Clinic, our Foot Health Practitioners and Podiatrists have a comprehensive inter-referral system to ensure our patients are getting the best care.

Surgical Procedures

All surgical procedures are undertaken by the clinic’s HCPC Registered Podiatrist and performed with local anaesthetic. We offer nail surgery for when ingrown toenails present persistent and troublesome symptoms. Nail surgery involves numbing the toe with local anaesthetic, removing part of the nail which is causing the problem (this may be one or both sides of the nail), and applying a special type of acid to help prevent the nail re-growing.

We also offer verruca needling, a treatment option for persistent and painful verrucae. Verrucae (or plantar warts) are caused by the human papilloma virus. They are very common and can present in people of all ages. Verrucae can appear asymptomatic and present no pain or discomfort, or on the other hand, they can be painful and debilitating, interfering with sports and other activities.

Please note that a Consultation will be required before any surgical procedures take place.
