Conditions Treated

The ‘Effectiveness of Manual Therapies – The UK Evidence Report’ published by Bronfort et al in 2010 has indicated that Chiropractic can help with the conditions below.

Acute and chronic low back pain:

Low back pain is the most common condition and injury we treat and will affect almost everyone at some point in their life. The causes of back pain are vast; it can be from the repetitive day-to-day routines and bad posture, to manual work, gardening, sport, and long driving trips.

Acute/subacute neck pain:

There are many causes of acute and subacute neck pain including posture and sports injuries.

Chronic neck pain:

Chronic neck pain is the second most common condition that we see at The Lansdown Clinic; the recent research shows that chronic neck pain affects just under 28 million people in the UK.

Cervicogenic headache and migraine:

Some headaches can arise from structures in the neck including the muscles at the base of the skull.

Shoulder girdle pain/dysfunction, including frozen shoulder:

Shoulders can often be linked with neck, arm, wrist and hand pain. The shoulder joint is held in place by four rotator cuff muscles that can be prone to a repetitive type of injury or a sports related injury.

Tennis elbow:

This is often associated with a repetitive type of injury or movement, for example in mechanics, electricians and typists.

Hip and knee pain associated with osteoarthritis:

We will all experience some form of osteoarthritis at some point in our lives. Factors such as genetics and lifestyle are factors that contribute to the rate of wear and tear we have. Osteoarthritis can become a problem if it stops our joints moving normally causing pain and impinges on everyday activities.

Extremity joint conditions:

These are problems associated with feet, ankles, knees, elbows and shoulders that may arise from sports-related injuries.
