At The Lansdown Clinic we offer a range of treatments for pregnant and post-natal mothers and infants and children.




Chiropractic care is safe for both the mother and baby throughout pregnancy. In the first trimester, the baby is protected by the mothers’ bony pelvis and within the uterus and amniotic fluid. Later the growing belly is supported by the mother’s spine, muscles and ligaments. These should be balanced and in alignment in order for the mother to be comfortable.

Chiropractors will carefully position the mother with pregnancy pillows or use table variations to allow for the bump. Consideration for the mother’s relaxed ligaments is taken into account and specific adapted techniques are employed as the pregnancy advances. Chiropractic adjustments can be used throughout pregnancy to help the pelvic and postural muscles from over-working.



At The Lansdown Clinic we are delighted to offer a new series of Yoga classes specifically developed for mum’s (parents) easing back into exercise.

Oli is one of our perinatal specialist practitioners here at The Lansdown Clinic offering weekly postnatal yoga and mum & baby yoga classes. Oli teaches a variety of Yoga classes and courses in our local community, including pre and postnatal yoga, Parent and Baby yoga, Children’s yoga, Yin yoga, Yoga Nidra and Hatha yoga working with all ages and capabilities.

Alongside her yoga, Oli is a dedicated Birth & Postantal Doula striving for parents across Gloucestershire to have the freedom and informed choice in how they birth. Oli works privately with families in the local area and also runs support circles.

Oli’s classes are community centered and she takes a holistic approach, working with the body but also allowing and holding space for any emotions that arise throughout the movement practice. Oli is passionate about creating a safe, warm and nurturing environment and what she loves about her work today is seeing her clients transition from person to parent.

Mother & Baby Yoga

Oli’s Mum & Baby yoga is a great way to ease yourself back into exercising as a new parent whilst bonding with your baby.

Oli’s class works on strengthening and toning specific muscle groups affected by giving birth, most commonly the stomach, pelvic floor and back. These movement sequences can help with relaxation, improve sleep, fitness level and overall posture. The poses taught are aimed at healing the body after birth but are also used to help with the physical adjustments of parenthood. While movement is instructed within the classes, the main focus is on facilitating the bond between parent and child.

This class is suitable for parents from six weeks postnatal (one you have had your 6/8 week check-up), up until your baby is mobile. The class gives you the chance to stretch and relax whilst spending some quality time with your baby. The class is designed to be enjoyable for both parent and baby.

Parent and baby yoga offers several benefits to your baby – from calming and relaxing them, to helping their reflexes develop. It can improve their awareness of their surroundings, and even make your bond stronger.

Postnatal Yoga

Oli’s Postpartum yoga class is a baby free zone! We focus on a modified, low-intensity yoga practice specifically for you. This type of yoga is designed to help your body recover and restore and can alleviate stress and depression after giving birth.

This class works on strengthening and toning specific muscle groups affected by giving birth most commonly the stomach, pelvic floor and back. These movements sequences can help with relaxation, improve sleep, fitness level and overall posture. The poses taught are often aimed at healing the body from birth but are also used to help with the physical adjustment of parenthood.

In general, this class is suitable for parents 6 weeks postpartum who have had a straightforward vaginal delivery. For parents recovering from C section or instrumental vaginal delivery we recommend attending from 8 weeks postpartum after having your first health check.


Prenatal & Postpartum Chiropractic

We are privileged to treat several pregnant mums-to-here at The Lansdown Clinic. We have had pregnant women from Stroud, Cheltenham, Cirencester, Bristol and Gloucester to name a few.

Our practitioners have been trained as pregnancy chiropractors use a wide variety of techniques to help you deal with the stresses of pregnancy. Treatment is gentle and uses modified techniques, making it safe for both prenatal and postpartum care.

Chiropractors train full-time for five years where we learn medical diagnosis, radiography and radiology (apart from chiropractic skills), which means that we can diagnose your problem. We are primary care practitioners specialising in nerve, muscle and joint problems. Chiropractic care forms part of a multidisciplinary approach, care is always taken to refer out when necessary and provide feedback to all healthcare providers currently managing the patient.

Paediatric Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic can be equally beneficial for babies. Our chiropractors have completed extra training in paediatric care and are very experienced in treating children of all ages.

Gentle manipulation could help soothe and relax your baby. The treatment for babies and young children is modified using a slight pressure (sustained release) most commonly rather than the manipulative technique used on adults. Ensuring that the baby is relaxed can assist in decreasing stress to mom and the family.
