Sports Massage
Sports Massage may help to alleviate the tension and stress of sports-related injuries and assist in the prevention of injury before and after a sporting event. We use soft tissue massage and stretching, trigger-point therapy, kinesio taping, and exercise prescription as part of your treatment.
It is not only limited to sportspersons, but for anyone who enjoys an active lifestyle. So whether you’re a swimmer, a runner, a cyclist, a racket sports fan or a weight lifter, we can help!
Remedial Massage
Is there something going on that’s stopping you from experiencing optimum health? Maybe you’ve had an ongoing niggle or issue that is getting in the way of your day to day life and activities? If so then remedial massage could be the answer for you.
Your first session is where I’ll gather as much information about the complaint from you so we can work out the best course of care that works for you. This could include postural assessment, muscle and movement testing and will always incorporate hands on treatment. At the end of the session I will let you know what my findings and recommendations are.
You will also be given a set of rehabilitation exercises to do between sessions. Follow on sessions will always be hands on treatment. After the recommended initial course of Care I’d schedule in a re assessment (postural, movement, muscle ) so we can established where things are at for you and go from there.
I’m dedicated to finding the root of the issue so you can better support yourself going forward.

Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage is utilised in sports therapy/massage because targets chronic tension in muscles that lie far below the body’s surface. Deep muscle techniques involve slow strokes, direct pressure or friction movements that go across the muscle grain.
When there is chronic muscle tension or injury, there are usually adhesions (bands of painful, rigid tissue) in muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Adhesions can block circulation and cause pain, limited movement, and inflammation.
Deep tissue massage works by physically breaking down these adhesions to relieve pain and restore normal movement.
Massage therapists will use their fingers, thumbs or occasionally even elbows to apply the needed pressure. It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders.
Some of the same strokes are used as classic massage but the movement is slower and the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and pain.
Unlike classic massage therapy, which is used for relaxation, deep tissue massage usually focuses on a specific problem, such as: chronic pain, limited mobility, recovery from injuries (e.g. whiplash, falls, sports injury), repetitive strain injury, such as carpal tunnel syndrome, osteoarthritis pain, fibromyalgia, and muscle spasms.
